Pacifica, CA December 12, 2024 — With over 60 thousand attendees, unforgettable performances, and a vibrant showcase of local art and culture, this year’s festival was a tremendous success. The 37th Annual Pacific Coast Fog Fest presented by Lytt, which took place on September 28th and 29th, transformed “Downtown Pacifica” into a hub of community celebration, drawing both locals and visitors from across the Bay Area all for a great cause.
“Ultimately an entire festival dedicated to the community, we have so many amazing nonprofits in our town that do so much beautiful good and I hope they get as much money as possible so they can keep giving back and make our community better and better,” says Holly Smallie, Director of Operations for Lytt.

Representatives from each volunteer organization are invited to attend a check distribution ceremony on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at the Sanchez Art Center beginning at 7:00PM. FFOG will announce the total amount being contributed back to our community and present each of the nearly 40 organizations with their share.
“The bills have all been paid and we have a date for the distribution,” says FFOG Vice President Kathy Johnson, “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating the Fog Fest success due to the hard work that all of our local community groups provide,” she adds.

Fest presented by Lytt is on, and the music lineup has just been announced, promising
a weekend full of incredible performances on September 28th and 29th. Fog Fest is set
to deliver non-stop entertainment across several stages including the newly added DJ
Truck in place of the traditional center stage. This year’s lineup features a mix of music

Pacifica, CA August 7, 2024 — When visiting the 37th Annual Pacific Coast Fog Fest
presented by Lytt, be sure to check out the Fun Fest, a dedicated area filled with
exciting activities for children and families to enjoy together. The Fall Family Fun Fest is
an annual play festival designed to promote healthy family play, both competitive and
cooperative, with an emphasis on participation and a sense of community. Celebrating
40 years, The Family Fun Fest was created prior to the development of Fog Fest and
the two naturally merged to what it is today.
The Family Fun Fest will be on Sunday September 29 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Ingrid
B. Lacy School Field – 1427 Palmetto Ave.
For those looking to get active while enjoying Pacifica’s breathtaking views, the Fog Jog
is a can’t-miss event. Taking place on Sunday, September 29 at 9:00am, the Fog Jog
invites runners and walkers to take part in a 5-mile course that winds through Pacifica’s
scenic coastline. Early bird registration is $25 and day of will be $30.

Pacifica, CA July 31, 2024 — The much-anticipated 37th Annual Pacific Coast Fog
Fest presented by Lytt will take place in Pacifica on September 28 and 29, bringing
people together for a weekend of activities that celebrate our coastside community
through art, food, music, and entertainment. Highlights will include the Fog Fest Parade,
a long-standing tradition that showcases the creativity and pride of Pacifica’s residents,
and the Fog Fest Photo Contest, inviting amateur and professional photographers alike
to showcase their art.
The Fog Fest parade themed “A Whale of a Good Time!” will honor Pacifica’s teachers
and staff for all they have done in service to our local community. The parade kicks off
the festival on Saturday September 28 at 10:00am on the corner of Palmetto Ave. and
Montecito Ave. There will be $100 cash prizes for the categories of Best Float, Best Mini
Float, Best Costumed Walking Group, and Best Music or Dance Group.
And if you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to express your photographic talents, now
is your chance! Show off your photographic skill by entering our contest. There is no
residency, geographic content or age restrictions. Entries will be accepted September
20th – 23rd 2024 at the Sanchez Art Center. All photo contest entries will be judged by
acclaimed Pacifica photographers, Edwin Hacking, Alan Grinberg, and Sharron L
Walker. The categories are Pacifica Scenes, Portraits, and Black & White or
Monochromatic.
Pacifica, CA July 24, 2024 — Fog Fest is making a splash this year with stunning
artwork from local artist and owner of Cotton Crustacean, Aaron John Gregory. Aaron’s
artwork prominently features the iconic Pacifica statue, a tribute to the city’s namesake
and a symbol of its rich heritage.
“I’m honored to be helping Fog Fest because as I told my story it means a lot to me, it
means a lot to my family, it means a lot to the community,” Gregory says.
Known for his prehistoric coastal-inspired designs, Aaron brings the spirit of Pacifica to
life in the 2024 Fog Fest poster featuring iconic Pacifica imagery. The centerpiece of the
design is the 81 foot tall statue of Pacifica created in 1939 for the Golden Gate
International Exposition.

Pacifica, CA May 23, 2024 — Fog Fest Organizing Group (FFOG), the all volunteer community group behind this year’s annual Pacific Coast Fog Fest, would like to thank everyone who attended the first official fundraiser to help #SaveFogFest. Over 200 community members showed up to Winters Tavern last Sunday to enjoy live music, sunshine and good vibes for a great cause.
“I was thrilled to see how many people came out to show their love for our longtime tradition” says Kim Lerohl who recently joined in on the efforts and organized the fundraising event. “The generosity shown was a perfect example of how tight knit our community really is” she added.
Lerohl is still working to track down the final silent auction winners but early reports show that she and her fellow community members were able to raise over $9,000! As a reminder, all funds raised benefit Fog Fest to help cover rising production costs and ensure the 35+ local non profit community organizations, who volunteer on the day of the fest, receive money for their work.
Fog Fest President John Beckmeyer hopes to address community concerns and share more information in the coming month as his team gears up for a few more fundraisers while still also planning the 37th Annual Fog Fest set for September 28th and 29th along Palmetto Ave.
“We understand how much Fog Fest means to the fabric of our community and we are working diligently to offset the increased costs to keep it alive” Beckmeyer says. “We have seen the commentary online from concerned community members and are working on a FAQ sheet to help better explain how it all works” he notes.
FFOG also wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kim Lerohl, all the bands that donated their performances — Offshore Winds, Public John, Native Elements, Midnight Mixtape, and Whisper to Thunder and of course the owners of Winters Tavern CJ and Corinne for hosting and contributing to the event. Also sending a special shout out to Kelli Collins for providing the tacos, Lola Carr for donating the Quirk seltzers, and Chasta and Dennis Willis from Soundwaves TV for helping out with promotion.
A more formal announcement discussing this year’s budget, how the vendor program works, and who is currently serving on the board and its sub committees to follow soon after the groups next board meeting in June. The Pacific Coast Fog Fest each year promotes the City of Pacifica, attracts visitors, celebrates our community and raises funds for local community groups. Now over 35 groups benefit and to date, an amount of $1,250,000 has been donated back.
The Fog Fest was created in 1986 to promote Pacifica and to celebrate our marvelous coast. The last full weekend of September was chosen because historically the weather is unbeatable.
